Project Objectives
The WGP project seeks to overcome barriers that women face in the green economy by providing them with training, mentorship, and support. Our goal is to inspire women, develop their skills, and foster sustainable practices, ultimately contributing to a greener, more inclusive economy.
Duration: June 2024 - May 2025
Key Activities
- Stocktaking: Identifying existing policies, initiatives, good practices, and success stories, as well as action gaps, challenges, and capacity-building needs at both regional and country/territory levels. The stocktaking includes producing a regional report, a handbook, and a directory to support the transition to a gender-based green economy.
- Advocacy and Policy Engagement:Creating policy briefs and organizing national workshops and a regional conference to establish a multi-stakeholder policy dialogue and contribute to regional cooperation on women’s economic empowerment, in alignment with the UfM Ministerial Declaration and roadmap.
