Lancement du projet DigiWave : vers l’autonomisation numérique des femmes en Méditerranée
The Centre of Arab Women for Training and Research (CAWTAR) announces the launch of the DigiWave – Women Access Versatile Employment in Digital Economy project, co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme. This regional initiative brings together partners from several Mediterranean countries — Jovesolides (Spain), ActionAid (Greece), Al-Balqa Applied University (Jordan), and CAWTAR (Tunisia) — to strengthen women’s digital skills and promote their inclusion in the digital economy.
The project aims to bridge the gender digital divide through training, an e-learning platform, and inclusive policy recommendations.
DigiWave delivers: • A 6-month hybrid training and mentoring programme for 200 vulnerable women, focusing on digital skills, entrepreneurship, and soft skills.
• A multilingual e-learning platform with a self-paced MOOC reaching more than 200 additional learners.
• A Toolkit for digital inclusion of women, including practical tools, good practices, and case studies to support replication and policymaking.
• 10 advocacy and awareness events engaging over 400 stakeholders (public authorities, tech companies, and civil society) to promote inclusive digital practices.
• An International “Women in Tech Forum” to foster inclusion, policy dialogue, and highlight success stories.
• A Mediterranean Digital Inclusion Pact advocating for long-term systemic change towards digital gender equality.
As the Tunisian partner, CAWTAR will lead the selection of beneficiaries, coordinate training implementation, and ensure dissemination of the project’s results for a lasting impact on women’s economic empowerment in Med region.
